Everyone wants to change in the same week

In the last days of November, everyone wants to switch to winter tyres at once. The yard is full, we work long evenings, and you end up waiting for a job that takes fifteen minutes.

It can be done the other way round. Change in September or October and the job takes the quarter of an hour it should, and you pick the day that suits you.

We’ll take fifty kronor off

A tyre change costs 400 kr. Change before 1 November and it costs 350 kr.

If the wheels are seized with rust it takes longer, and then we charge by the hour. We always tell you before we start — you know the price before we begin.

Three reasons to act now

The frost arrives before the calendar does. Winter road conditions mean snow, ice, slush or frost on the road. Frost on Öland comes long before December. The police judge the road conditions on the spot, where you are.

Time to choose the right tyres. If your winter tyres have less than 3 mm of tread left, they are illegal. We measure when you come in. If something needs replacing, this early we have plenty of time to find the best tyre at the best price from our suppliers. At the end of November you take whatever is left.

You skip the queue. Come now and there are two of us working at a calm pace. Come in week 47 and you’re queuing with everybody else.

What the law says

For cars, light trucks, light buses and trailers, winter tyres are required from 1 December to 31 March when winter road conditions apply. The minimum tread depth is 3 mm.

For heavy trucks and heavy buses, winter tyres apply from 10 November to 10 April, and that regardless of road conditions. That’s three weeks earlier, and the rule applies every day of the period.
